# Mail Actions

Mail Actions are used when an [Ask AI](/inbox-ai/actions/custom-actions/ask-ai.md) action is triggered on an incoming email during [Email Processing](/inbox-ai/email-processing.md). Any mail action selected by the AI or returned as a [Next Action Field](/inbox-ai/actions/next-action-field.md) will be executed by Apple Mail.
